Who was it who said, “all dog stories are sad stories”?
Same feeling.
And yet…those joys are so profound and pure that every stacked sorrow is easily erased…
With dogs, it’s that their lives are so short compared to ours, and yet we love them and they love us.
With hawks, it is that they can so easily FLY AWAY and try so hard to get killed– especially the good ones.
I think I’ll keep my mouth shut about “amours’….
