Help keep me alive and working! My only income comes from my writing and having adventures; so help keep me going even at 74 and with Parkinson’s.
“Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?”

My current Harris hawk pecked at pictures of birds in books while I was training him. Interestingly, he seem to recognize even etchings and line drawings of birds as "potentially edible."
Mabel, too, recognised tiny line drawings of partridges and ignored non-gamebirds. I told Tim Birkhead this and he was all, "wow. Let's do an experiment!"
Yeah, two of my passage redtails pecked at photos in the Audubon guide — especially the barn owl: one of the RTs went right for the head. Raptors do have some pretty amazing pattern-matching skills.
