All the Time in the World

Gierach’s books are always a fun read. He has been consistent through the years and this one will likely be as a good. I used to see his stuff in mags, etc but I do not get any now and I am not sure where he hangs his hat, anymore.

First edition.
A later printing.

I see they are using better covers now. Bob White illustrations, in Gierach’s case, who is a friend of the author. Gierach’s covers are often terrible jumbles of crap thrown together by the publisher. The last Gierach book I bought was “Still Life with Brook Trout” in the first edition. The cover had a guy holding a surf rod. I read that Gierach was super peeved about that. On later printings, the reel was removed but it still looked stupid. The reprint covers are a laugh, they are so bad.

$40 a copy! Yikes, back to the library. I see they have digital copies jacked to $20. So much for the promise that would make books affordable.
