Fundy Tide

I had a comment about this spot in a fall fishing post, last year.

I was down there again on Sept 28 but this time at low tide. I was quite gobsmacked at the scale of it without the water. It is hard to show how impressive it is in tablet pictures. The tidal range is about 40 t0 50 feet. The size of the gravel bar was really unexpected. I was really wondering what physics maintains it. The transition from it to endless mud is dramatic and what keeps it so clean?
For the sake of space, I uploaded 36 pix and videos to a Fundy tide sharing site. I goofed on some of the audio. The microphone is right where you want to hold the tablet and I cut it off sometimes.
I didn’t get it on video but I watched this bit of mud get covered over in a minute or so. A 45 foot tide would rise about 1.5 inches a minute although the reality is the rate changes. It is fastest around mid tide.
