
I mentioned Tree Bridges Wednesday and saw this on Critter Bridges later.
Not exactly unexpected stuff but a surprise was, “Two mule deer being swept away after attempting to climb onto a log during a high flow event.”
Also, deer were the most common species seen at the sites. I have to wonder why since it is unlikely they could cross on logs etc. Deer use beaver dams but those are broader.
“This is the beginning of looking into this topic more in-depth,” Arismendi said. “I think there is a lot to unpack about the role of log jams in rivers.”
