Another Monet.

I saw this holloway on a post on this site and today I walked it myself. So beautiful in today’s sunshine. Dark Lane in Halifax is part of the Magna Via, a mediaeval packhorse track which was also known as Wakefield Gate.

It’s one of the best preserved medieval hollow-ways in West Yorkshire; in parts it is twelve feet deep and was hollowed out by centuries of traffic.
