Einstein (a scrub-jay) will perch in a bush if I point at him, then point at the bush. You would expect him to fly over to the bush, but no. He walks over to the bush, then climbs up all the branches to the top. I don’t know why he does this the hard way. Anyway I can get some nice shots of Einstein because he will perch for me when I ask. Here’s some shots of his eye. Sometimes I catch him when he blinks, and the pattern on his nictating membrane look like lightning. Toshiyasu Morita
