
Continuing our #spookyseason posts with this unsettling scene by Joseph Wolf. If you look closely, you’ll see that one of the attacking falcons wears a jess, indicating that it’s a trained hunting bird. The plot thickens, when you notice the two hares escaping in the lower left. In competition for the same prey, the kite has fallen victim to the gyrfalcons, as feathers fly.
