Featured painting: Herbert W. “Buck” Dunton, “Vivian On Pet”, 1924“I love the way Buck Dunton captures his daughter’s feelings in this picture. She looks like she would like to be anywhere but sitting for her father to paint her portrait. Having raised two daughters, I saw that look a lot and it was followed with an, ‘Oh Mother’ or a ‘Geez’. This painting says, ‘Dad, really, my friends are waiting’.”-Connie, Security American Museum of Western Art-The Anschutz Collection
I laughed.
