Arches and Seabeds.

I saw this when it dropped. Very interesting geology.

I was partially interested in the Arches video because it reminded me of one the first books I have read. Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey. I read it in my early teens. I remember little of it other than it was set in the  Arches National Monument (now Arches National Park). Since pictures were limited then, I was always curious about the landscape there. I didn’t make a list of books read like in the picture but it would be fun if I had. The Abbey book would be early on the list. I wonder how long Steve’s list would be.

Also, good.

It amazes me how sediment is transported by rivers and how far underwater it can travel.

As he explains, the sediment is much deeper than the mountains they came from. It begs the question how high the Himalayas would be without erosion. Likely 3x higher anyway.
He misses adding the Bell Paleo river as a possible cause of the sediment trench off lab.
His Santa Claus demeanor is a plus, especially for kids.
