Did you ever notice that pigeon breeders in movies are a little . . . odd?
Think of Forest Whitaker’s hit man character in “Ghost Dog”. Or Will Ferrell’s unreconstructed Nazi in the 2005 version of “The Producers”.
Neither of them is exactly “mainstream.”
So what are pigeons in American cinematic mythology?
But what about Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront? Or Jimmy Smits in NYPD Blue? (He also narrates a good pigeon documentary).
