That's a good wish list to have. I just started reading the River Rat books. Having grown up in NE Iowa and living in Winona, MN for 10 years, it makes me homesick.

There is a dead rabbit in the nest and could hear a mourning dove cooing.
The eggs should hatch in a couple of days.
Speaking of doves – the Iowa legislature just passed a law to allow dove hunting, much to the displeasure of bleeding hearts and anti-hunters.
