Girls Gone Wild, Part II

Three years after this day, my twins are taller and the farm has swapped cattle for soybeans (a bad trade from my perspective), but a day in the field is still worth a week at a desk!

We found a strip of grass still standing and walked it back and forth until Ernie had his fill.

  1. Our girls are about the same age… Do you ever catch a glimpse and think to yourself, "When did this happen?" I'm sure it can't be any more than a few months ago I brought Ellie home from the hospital, cradled in the crook of my left arm and wrapped in a Pendleton blanket against the blizzard, and yet she doesn't seem to fit in my left arm anymore. Instead, I have this willowy young woman living in my house, with the same smile I remember on baby Ellie, and toddler Ellie, and little-girl Ellie. And it sometimes seems all of a sudden. How time flies…

Your daughters are gorgeous…and, I suspect, beautiful people as well. Be proud [he said unnecessarily].
