  1. Stephen, I've wandered over here from Gerard's. I don't know if you're aware of this, but I believe William F. Buckley's yacht was named Querencia. The explanation I recall is that it was the portion of the bull fighting ring staked out by the bull as his comfort zone.

    BTW, You MUST be a Guy Clark fan. If not, why not?

The late Betsy Huntington, (along with New Mexico the subject of my book Querencia, for which the blog is named), was a fan of his sailing books, and the epigraph of the book is from WFB, saying what you just did.     HUGE Guy Clark fan since the old days–first I heard him was around "Rita Ballou", and one of my favorites of all time is Dublin Blues.
