Worse for Elmer– I also have a Jack O'Connor hat, though made by Lobb's in England rather than Borsalino.
Anyway, my "regular" hat is a down- home Resistol with a Montana horsehair band. Maybe I should do a hat post…
Steve, try elevating the muzzle slightly at the ready position so your eyes see the target beyond it, then mount and shoot. (A tip from a London shooting school instructor.) Even if you don't hit it, you'll look good.
