Some posts have been appearing here that are not mine. They are nothing offensive; in fact, one of them may have been an old post of mine from years ago, but they are NOT MINE. Until I get to the bottom of this, treat everything skeptically.

  1. I am Rick Holderman. We’ve communicated before, though it has been a while.
I recently stumbled across a first edition of the new printing of A RAGE FOR FALCONS. In addition, I have a California Hawking Club 1999 Journal that you contributed an article for.

I would like to send these to you for your signature. I will, of course, include return postage.

    Best Regards,

  2. Finished “Tiger Country” last night. Thank you for it!

In the “about the author” it is said you are writing a book about the passenger pigeon. You might obtain U.P. Hedrick’s “The Land of the Crooked Tree,” Oxford 1948, which has an entire chapter on the passenger pigeon in upper Michigan. I can’t find my copy so I can’t give the chapter and pages. Hedrick was a prominent New York horticultural scientist; this was a memoir of growing up in Northern Michigan (but not the UP as I recall). A great book overall.

  3. Steve,
I hope this finds you well as can be, and happy also. I miss this site very much. Please come back soon.

  4. This is Jon Landers an infrequent commenter on your blog and fellow U Mass and Mass resident. Just checking to see how you are faring? I miss the old blog but am sure there were compelling reasons to change. Hope all is well and your treatments are helping. Getting older is not for sissies! Be well!
