Otherlands

I read this over the weekend.

I didn’t intend to do that but got sucked in. It is a better read than I expected. I have read a lot of paleontology books. This is well written and is even poetic at times. The author can turn a phrase. What I liked most was at one point how it inspired a mood for feeling deep time worlds. The author describes ancient ecosystems and brings them to life better than most. Similar sentiments are expressed on other online reviews. It can be hard to follow with all the unfamiliar names and places but it is worth the read.

This one may be worth a look next.

I wasn’t that keen on his dinosaur one but it may be good.
