I have always been fascinated by this stone work spread across the ancient world. The Incas did similar work.
The source post suggested the irregular pattern was for earthquake resistance. There were a 1000 comments about them I didn’t dig into but one guy claimed it was done by raising the stone in the air and rubbing them against each other. That sounds doubtful but however done the results are impressive.
