First time out in the blind since acquiring this beauty. Though I never fired a shot it sure felt good to have such a terrific fowling piece in hand…1927 Ithaca NID 4E 12ga 2bbl set and yes it was factory ordered as such.
This one was restocked about a decade or so ago as a previous owner split the original in half lengthwise. The forends are still original and still wear the original factory finish. Barrels, forend irons and trigger guard have been reblued in proper salt blue finish and CCH parts redone. When I got the gun it retained about 10% of the original CCH. The engraving is untouched. The receiver was in such good condition it was not necessary to do much metal prep so the engraving was never touched. Its still perfect in original condition. Chris Dawe at Stillwater Restorations did the work including restocking the gun. He is a master! There are none better! The execution of the original checkering pattern is absolutely flawless and stunning! Frank Good
A nice Ithaca. The engraving is not high end but a good gun.
