The slow mo really helps see what happened. This gives some idea of the difficulty of it. Steve had a comment on that in a story he had on grouse shooting somewhere. Something like trying to hit a softball barely visible while falling on your face.
There is lots of thick cover like that here but I seldom hunt it. Old orchards are far more fun. We still have the old New England style grouse covers but they are fading. I passed through such an area at the end of September. I scouted for every grouse cover it had 20 years ago. There were lots of classic covers on old farms. I wondered if they were still there. Things change fast. Very fast.
Grouse camp starts on the 17th this year. I need to get ready.
