Found on a lake shore. To me it looks like some kind of gouge, perhaps for canoe making? The point is worn down but that would be expected if its actually that old. My question: natural formation or first nations tool from antiquity? Brian Carey

That’s a gouge, all right. You can see where the channel ends, making it a half-channel gouge. If I knew my groundstone chronology better, I could tell you what time period it came from, but it almost certainly came from between 3000 and 6000 years ago. Cora Woolsey
