James L. Clark is not a name heard much anymore but in his time 100 years ago he was well known. Steve likely remembers him. I knew the name when I saw the ad but it took a second to make the association.
He wrote the book above which was a standard reference I heard mentioned frequently in old sheep hunting articles I read as a teen. Sheep were the pinnacle of desired game until whitetails took over in the 1980’s. It seems quaint now but sheep no longer are the cult animal they once were.
That is a dramatic bronze of an argali. I wonder who did it.
I am always stunned to see what is online. I never guessed Clark related video would be up there but here is some. That is something that would be impossible to see not long ago. China was an alien world then. It is astonishing the changes that have occurred since.
