What a day on the porgie today! The day was warm and calm and the fog was patchy. We had great trips in the morning and afternoon. Saw humpbacks lunging and feeding. But the best trip of the day was the 5:00 trip. We had just came around northern light to begin our trip and saw a splash not far away. I grabbed my camera and started snapping and got great shots of a thresher shark breaching! Nearly every day people ask me if we see sharks, I always answer, very rarely. Sharks don’t have to come to the surface to breathe so we rarely see them, besides the basking shark, who is a filter feeder and feeds on the same things as the humpbacks and is sometimes spotted near them. So we were very excited to see this thresher today. Right place at the right time. The trip was ended with a beautiful humpback slapping his great fins. It was a great day and we are hoping tomorrow will be just as great.
