One of my latest paintings depicting a Nutcracker (Nucifraga caryocatactes) in its beloved habitat. This bird prefer dark old spruce forests. Acrylic on paper, 24 X 30 cm Saulius Karalius

I read this a long time ago and it was a great piece of ecology thus I have a spot for nutcrackers even if I have never seen one. I don’t remember the Asian one being so pretty so the painting caught me by surprise. Much like a Starling.
