Ruffed Grouse taken with my R7 and 200-800 mm. I read a lot of people knocking this combo. I love it! This photo was taken in a forest, with sun light filtering through. The in body stabilization as well as the lens stabilization was awesome. The detail is amazing. I love the sun glare in the eye.
I sat for a while with this ruffed grouse, taking in the moment. In winter, they’re incredibly hard to photograph, blending seamlessly into the landscape. Every step off the beaten path, I sink deep into the snow, making it even more challenging.Today, a flock of around 20 surrounded me. Instead of chasing the perfect shot, I just sat still, enjoying the warmth of the sun.
