More Mahseer

The first cast is a thing of beauty rewarded with a spectacular top water response.

The week of June 12, I had a 3lb brown on. It jumped 3 times like a salmon. Once so close it splashed me. Very cool. I never saw that before. Then it broke off and my buddy was not impressed. I have caught many browns and jumpers are rare.

There is nothing not on video now? I never heard of red mahseer before but, wow, are those rivers and fish exciting looking.

World Record Humpback Mahseer 130-pound!
The rod-and-reel, 130-pound record Mussullah Mahseer was caught in the Cauvery River in India. The critically endangered Mahseer is nicknamed “The Tiger of Kaveri” due to its fighting ability. It is believed to have divine protection. There are at least seven Mahseer species in Indian rivers.
Lots of doubt it is 130 lbs but it seems to check out even if it doesn’t look it.
