Grizzly Bear Distribution in North America: This map illustrates current grizzly bear population densities, with the highest concentrations in Alaska, western Canada, and parts of the U.S. Rockies. It also highlights areas of historical range where grizzlies have been extirpated (beige) and regions where their range is slowly expanding.
I think I posted before about the odd distribution of Griz. Why the Arctic and west but not the east? They handle rain forest but deciduous forest is no good?
I think I did see a semi plausible reason once but forgot it. Anyone know?
