
Scimitar Canyon is a remote, narrow 20-kilometer-long gorge carved by the Ram River into the Ram Plateau within Nahanni National Park Reserve in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Flanked by vertical limestone walls rising nearly 400 meters, it features extreme whitewater features like “The Slot” and received its first documented kayak descent in 2019.
I never heard of this canyon and wonder how not. It is amazing and you would think it would be publicized. I am reminded of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Another river in South America that is like a fantasy river.


Incredible scenery in this video straight out of Dune and Star Wars. I laughed at the podrace scenery in Star Wars but I guess I was wrong.
