Boundlessness

Ivan Marchuk (Ukrainian, born 1936) Boundlessness, 1985

The technique is called pliontanism, in which very thin lines of acrylic or tempera are laid to produce different effects like light refraction or texture. Ivan is apparently a pioneer of this painstaking technique, making it hard to reproduce.
The odd texture of the sky is what makes it work. Well done.
