We sit by and watch the Barbarian, we tolerate him; in the long stretches of peace we are not afraid. We are tickled by his irreverence, his comic inversion of our old certitudes and our fixed creeds refreshes us; we laugh. But as we laugh we are watched by large and awful faces from beyond: and on these faces there is no smile.

Are you psyching yourself up for the upcoming release(later in August) of the NEW "Conan The Barbarian" movie? I am, fer sure–reread all the original Robert Howard stories, which this movie is supposedley(I am hoping) going to honor(though I have to admit, I also enjoyed the Arnie versions–BEST movie soundtrack ever, in those movies hands-down, in my opinion!) A favorite quote of mine is from the original Howard Conan story "Tower Of The Elephant"–"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages, because they can be impolite without getting their skulls split, as a general thing."….L.B.
