When I first saw this image my thought was photoshop but it is real. I am surprised never to have seen it before. Just amazing.

First U.S. Sighting of Massive Atlas Moth Confirmed

When I made this post I had no idea it would turn up here in North America. “Attacus atlas, the Atlas moth, is a large saturniid moth endemic to the forests of Asia.”
