Hearst’s zebras did not just survive out in the wild; they thrived. Their numbers grew from 126 in 2020 to 151 in 2022.

I marvel at how much I never hear about.

The US is loaded with exotics. There are more tigers in private hands than in the wild there.

Speaking of tigers, there was some good news in July.

There are 40 percent more tigers in the wild than previously thought, but with a maximum of 5,578 on the prowl, they remain an endangered species, conservationists said Thursday.
