John Hawks, back from the dead?

John Hawks is a  paleoanthropologist, exploring the ancient world of humans and fossil human relatives. I used to follow his blog up until it seemed to stop a year, or two, ago. It seems to be back and even has posts in the missing period which I can’t explain. Anyway, I am glad it is back as he has good info.

Not according to Hawks.

What killing methods enabled Neandertals to hunt large prey animals?

This post on Neandertals hunting tactics is a good example. I can’t help but wonder about the organization he describes. It would seem well developed language skills would be needed for that.
