Outdoorsman and author Roderick Haig-Brown taking his dogs for a stroll in two feet of Campbell River snow. Circa 1935, unknown photographer. Campbell River Archives. Lost BC
One of my heroes. This is a picture I have never seen before and maybe the best.
This man’s name is forever etched in my memory as a giant in the world of Conservation in BC.In the very first essay I wrote for a beginning Geography course at SFU, I quoted Haig-Brown’s work so many times that my entire essay was just a rehash of his work with very little of my own thoughts or ideas. My instructor pointed this out in writing after recording his final assessment of the quality of my essay. It was a “D”. I’ll never forget Roderick Haig Brown. Margaret Franz
I thought maybe he was being forgotten but there were 40 comments on the pic mostly like this.
