Stella and Steller’s Eagles.

RARE: Hybrid Eagle Discovered!
On December 8, 2004, an astonishing event was captured by a remote camera on Vancouver Island. A juvenile eagle, significantly larger than any seen before, appeared on the footage—its enormous beak and impressive stature left biologists puzzled. They concluded that this raptor might be a rare hybrid between a Steller’s sea eagle and a bald eagle. Since no Steller’s sea eagle had ever been sighted in the area before, this finding was unprecedented. Watch this amazing footage and decide for yourself. Special thanks to David Hancock for bringing this remarkable discovery to light and providing the footage. See This is very old content. This article, with stills from the video, was published in 2007. The juvenile would be an old bird now. Source
There was excitement about Stella nesting last summer but she may not be as unique as thought.
