Infrared cameras at the Lishan National Nature Reserve in northern China’s Shanxi Province, have recently recorded an exciting lineup of rare species –including the North China leopard, musk deer, brown eared-pheasant, golden pheasant and hazel grouse. Known as the “gene bank of North China’s wildlife”, the reserve is a true haven for endangered species. The frequent appearances of these “national treasures” offer vivid proof of the region’s improving ecosystems and the steady recovery of wildlife habitats.
Surprisingly, not much online about it. What is interesting is the temperate forest with such a different mix of species to here. How odd would monkeys be in the east?
