I was in Halifax Wednesday August 5th and stumble over this Facebook post. It was talking about tuna down in the basin. I spoke to friends in the area and they said they had seen it too. It was on the news as well as all over social media. I spent years there and never heard of tuna in the in the basin or harbor before. I’m not quite sure what kind of tuna they are. Some of the comments suggested that they were a yellowfin tuna but Blue Fins are as likely or more likely.
Many years ago I was out on the Harbor collecting bottom samples with a scientist and I asked what’s this black goopy stuff that we’re bringing up from the bottom. He said basically that’s hundreds of years of human s***. I never forgot that.

Also, A lot of pix of orcas in the Canso strait this summer. Fish like menhaden are up here in places never seen before, too.
