A peregrine by Tunnicliffe. He was always one of my favorite old school artists. Steve is a fan and should like this one.
I love black and white line art. I stumbled on this slightlyfox site looking for a reference on an old line art artist. I thought line art was a dead form. You used to see it in books pre 1960 but not now. This site shows it may not be dead yet. The English were always big on it and it looks like they still are. Most all these artists are new to me.
Howard Phipps’ work looks a lot like art by Denys James Watkins-Pitchford aka ‘BB’.
