This is one of the most unique side by side shotguns we have ever had in the shop. Many have heard of the “Kerstan” rib extension extra bite. This patent is still in use today by Merkel on their best over and unders. This Kerstan marked example is a double Kerstan bite on a horizontal profile. An extremely strong and unusual prewar 16g. side by side that weighs under 6 lbs. but carries 29″ Krupp barrels. The condition is quite good although there is some light pitting in each bore.

Gustav Kerstan 16 ga. with unique lock up
Weight: 5 lbs. 14 oz.? I am surprised it is that light.
As Steve said in his Good Guns, Again book the Germans like to make them tight! I would think it would be better on a big bore rifle.
As usual, open in new tabs to embiggen. Twice for small ones.
