I'm torn as to whether I prefer Datus Proper's name to Diggory Hadoke's – well never mind, both of them are favorites. That particular sentence comes from Hadoke's wonderful book "Vintage Guns for the Modern Shot" in a section subtitled "A proud history of Practical Eccentricity".
